LUCINDA DOUGLAS-MENZIES

Started her training as an assistant, to architectural photographer Jeremy Whitaker, and to Sydney Harris, press and public relations photographer. She then worked at Sotheby's for five years as a catalogue photographer to the Chinese porcelain, silver and jewellery departments.

In 1986 she opened her own studio, specialising in fine art photography and portraiture.

Commissions include numerous exhibition catalogues for London galleries and museums, and various commissions from book and magazine publishers. Clients include: the Daily Telegraph, Veuve Clicquot, Harpers, Grayson Perry, Schroders, the Guggenheim Museum New York, the Oldie, Legal and General, Halcyon Days, Linklaters, EC one jewellery, the Royal Overseas League, the Stephen Lacey Gallery, Jocasta Innes, Sydney L Moss, the Royal Society of Literature and Bernard Quaritch.

She has exhibited collections of her portraits at the Stephen Bartley Gallery, the Minories Gallery Colchester, and recently at the Golden Heart Pub Spitalfields.

The National Portrait Gallery has acquired more than sixty portraits for their archival collection.
